The group from the peninsula met at a Starbucks in RWC for the ride down to Hollister. Made sure the ride leader knew the way to the meet up point before departure....guess I should have made sure we were speaking of the same gas station BEFORE we actually got on the road. We made it none the less.
Rev got in just behind the rest of us and after a brief fuel stop, he took the lead and we were off. Some of the most amazing roads leading to Paso, San Miguel and finally Pismo.
At my age - the hot tub at the hotel was just what I needed to get back to being human after a long day in the saddle...thankfully, there are no pictures of that part of the trip! Now came the hunt for food. A dinner of the best chowder in Pismo followed by a beer back at the hotel and I was ready for sleep. Of course I was rooming with someone that snores like a buzz-saw (read "Hacker" here) so sleep was hard to come by.
Next day was coffee and bowl of raisin bran to start and then off we went. A brief stop at Morro Bay where I stuck my head into the Coast Guard Office to shake hands and thank them for serving and then back on the road.
More canyons lined with vineyards with the occasional suicidal squirrel until about 2 pm when we got on 101. The wind played havoc with our cuts taking turns turning us into batman look-a-likes at various points on the road back.
All in all, a great trip. Each and everyone one brought something to the experience and made it a trip to member.

Sadly, that joke will never die... no matter how old it gets. _________________ -Rev |

I hang my head in shame for that one. _________________ You may not always see a ghost, but you can be sure they are always around. |
