"Dis-ease" is not synonomous with "disease."

"Dis-ease" describes the incoordination between the brain and body as a result of nerve system interference. Vertebral Subluxations are a cause of neurothlipsis (nerve interference and incoordination) and result in dis-ease. Vertebral fracture can also result in neurothlipsis therefore the VS is not the ONLY cause of dis-ease.

The body is constantly adpating whether it is subluxated or not. Obviously, the body can adapt better when their is no interference to the nervous system. None-the-less, adaptation is always taking place. When it stops, death occurs.

"Disease" is nothing more than the indication that the body is reaching its "limitations of matter" of body adaptation.

Life <----- Health <----- Ease <----- Adjustment <----- Subluxation -----> NO Adjustment -----> Dis-Ease -----> Disease -----> Death

It's easy for me to understand the idea that the Subluxation is the cause of dis-ease. It's a fact that subluxations cause neurothlipsis. It's also a fact that the nervous system controls and coordinates every function in the body and adapts the person to their environment. Therefore, it is a fact that subluxation reduces the ability of the body to adapt to the environment. Subluxation causes an incoordination between the brain and body ("dis-ease"). This may or may not result in "disease." Therefore, subluxation can be said to be a cause of disease.

There seems to be more and more DCs (especially the newer ones) that haven't grasped the seriousness of the damage caused by subluxation - the DIS-EASE. Worse yet, they seem too happy to downgrade or denigrate the Chiropractic concept of subluxation (for whatever reason).

The way that B.J. and Stevenson described Chiropractic Philosophy was using the language of their day. The words and phrases that they used may seem foreign to many in today's time but it does not make their ideas null and void. Simply because one rejects the terms that they used back then does not mean that the same person should outright reject Chiropractic Philosophy.
