Thanks Charles for the build video and inspiration. I've purchased many of your DVD's that are highly informative and have helped to improve my woodworking skills.
Aside from woodworking techniques, to me, the most enlightening concept of your teaching is to become adaptable and creative in problem solving. You often demonstrate a variety of methods to achieve the desired end. "Sneaking up on it" and building to the major components has made a big difference to my woodworking.
I've finished the Shaker Wall Clock which became a going away gift for a co-worker. White pine was used for the project. The finish was three coats of red under one coat of black milk paint that was burnished with steel wool. A satin urethane was the used as the top coat. A raised panel was incorporated where a presentation plaque was affixed.
