After I downloaded Avid Free DV, I tried running it and it worked fine. A few weeks later I tried running it again and an error popped up during the start-up screen for Avid saying "An error had occurred. Assertion Failed: noValidResolutions ==FALSE". Does anyone know what this means or how to fix this?

Curious. There was one post on the Avid Free Forum with this error: http://www.avid.com/exchange/forums/thread/8387.aspx but it doesn't seem that RAM would be likely to me,.. Do you have third party RAM in your computer or just that provided by the factory? It seems like some sort of graphics card initialization perhaps. I'd first Repair Permissions on your start-up drive. http://kb.iu.edu/data/aoxn.html. If this doesn't work, get back. I can search the forum further. Make sure your Mac computer specifics are in your forum profile (if not already). Rob D.
