Services are little helpful extensions to OSX functions. They do all sorts of useful things like open selections in alternative software, change Simplified Chinese to Traditional Chinese and vice versa, change case, sort text and many more useful functions.
They are available throughout OSX, when applicable, from:
Menu > (Application) eg Pages > File > Services
In OSX 10.6, and up, also from under the Contextual Menu when you right click on something.
3. Double click on WordService.service inside the folder to install it. If you have an older system you will have to drag it into the (yourusername)/Library/Services folder. If you do not have a Services folder, create one labeled Services.
4. Restart your Mac
5. In OSX10.6 and up you need to open Menu > (Application) > Services > Services Preferences… and check the services you want to be available.
In older systems it will be simply available in Menu > (Application) > Services.
Unzip the file and double click on the WordService.service file. If you have the default security on your Mac, you may have to do this 3 times before it lets you open it. Once you have opened it, it will be installed.
Menu > Pages > Services > Services Preferences… > Keyboard > Shortcuts > Services > Shortcuts > scroll about half way down and check Sort Lines Ascending/Descending and any other services that catch your eye
Now when you select your text list > Menu > Pages > Services > Sort Lines Ascending/Descending
This is available everywhere not just Pages.
As it is now part of your menus, you can give it your own custom keyboard shortcut in System Preferences > Keyboard > Shortcuts
