|Apple provides technical support in several online forms.
Through forums of fellow users, the online Help menu, pdf UserGuides available for download from the Help menu and technical articles all accessible from:
Within the USA and Canada you may speak by phone to an Apple Expert
If you have AppleCare or have recently purchased your software you may also call Apple's local support telephone number and seek assistance there. I highly recommend paying for AppleCare to have the reassurance of 3 years of hardware support but more importantly access to bottomless software support.
If you are lucky enough to have an Apple Store near you, they provide several other avenues of support:
One to One for a fee gives you a full year of personal training by Apple staff. It is only available at the time you buy a new Mac from an Apple Retail Store or the Apple Online Store.
Workshops are free classes on the basics of many of Apple's products. Don't expect in depth material but the tutors will usually answer specific questions.
Genius Bar gives you hands on technical support, principally for your hardware but also for software problems.
Special Events are where new launches or guest speakers cover special topics of interest.
