Seeing as the run-off distance is very substantial on the airport drag strip;
Is not having an "NHRA Safety Safari" type crew on hand, preventing the TITV event from attracting quicker cars?

We have a great safety team with our track workers, fireman and paramedics. How fast of cars do you want to see? _________________ 84 T-Bird street/strip 13.03/103mph 331/C4

I've many friends who've not seen or heard a nitro funnycar before. At the TITV when the alcohol cars have a go, they think they are the loudest, baddest racecars ever. I tell them that a nitro funnycar at idle, is as loud as an alcohol funnycar at full bore! They ought to to experience that.
I'm hopeful and confident that at some point in time, there will be a nitro funnycar match race at the TITV races soon.
Cheers!  |

we have many racers that come over from the mainland that attend races at many other tracks and they have said that they cant believe how professional our crews are. in fact, i would think that full-time fire/rescue/ambulance people would be pretty qualified for track safety.
this year we'll be having a top alchohol funny car out that has run in the 5's.
as for nitro cars... well thats up to them but i imagine that fact our track doesnt have the bite of a full time track as well as the cost to both take the ferry and the cost per run is more whats keeping them away from what amounts to a "for fun" event. |
