For street class is it mandatory to have no antifreeze if it is a closed system with an overflow containment? _________________ '02 Mazda Protege 5

As far as I know. There are a couple different opinions on this at other tracks but I think it's mandatory at our track. there will always be the odd ones that get through but just to avoid being the A$$hole, I always drain and refill with water and water wetter. I usually drain the rad, refill with water, drain again after a drive and cool down. then add a bottle of Water Wetter and top off with water. Should be pretty diluted A-freeze mixture then. My new engine has drain fittings on the block so I can do it all at once now without a mess from pipe plugs.

^^^^What Donny said. I've heard a few different opinions.
Can't go wrong with water and water wetter. _________________ 87 Mustang GT

I drained the anti freeze out a couple nights ago. my rad drain is lowwer than the block so I get most out first try. I re-fill and then drain again. I will use water wetter for the first time. I would not want to be the one to dump anti-freeze on the track.
At least you would not be called out in front of the fans like on Pinks but other racers would be pissed at you. _________________ 84 T-Bird street/strip 13.03/103mph 331/C4

Well I drained the rad, filled it with water, ran the heater, drained it again, filled it, drained it and then filled it one last time with the addition of a bottle of water wetter. There may be some AF still in there but it is minimal. It'll have to do. _________________ '02 Mazda Protege 5
