This is GREAT Rickie. Now we have a place to meet and exchange ideas and tips. Good idea. I hope people use it.
Craft fair is tomorrow. Busy getting ready today. When I get back I am going to put those e-books to good use. Will let you know if I have questions.
The only real problem that I have now is wrapping the wire tears up my hands and really makes my hands sore. I do try to keep the wire to 20-22 guage so it isn't too hard for me to handle. Any suggestions? And don't tell me to wear my mittens, lol. Yes, still snowing here.... brrrrrr.

| When you make your hook and place it on the wires, place it to where the hook is on the bottom side (be sure that you tape the wires together before you start). Place your pliers on the wires that you are wrapping, close to the wrap wire. Grab the wrap wire out away from the piece that you are wrapping, this gives you some leverage, and bend it straight down. If you hold the wires tight with your pliers, it should bend right next to the outside wire and this should keep it from falling off when you turn the piece, it will slide up and down the piece but shouldn't come off if you take it easy. Now turn the piece to where the wrap wire is sticking up and is between you and the piece you are wrapping. Hold the piece with your pliers close to the wrap and take your thumb and place it about an inch from where you want the bend to take place and push it away from you. The greater the distance from where the bend is going to take place and your thumb, the more leverage you will have and the easier it is to do. Once you get it started, usually about 3/4 of the way down, use your pliers to mash it on down. If it still hurts your fingers, use two sets of pliers, one to hold the piece and the other to hold the wrap wire. |

I do put the hook on the underside and follow instructions as you described, Rickie, but if I still continue to have problems will use two pliers as you suggested. Thank you for the tips.

Hello everyone, It's nice to have a place to talk to others with the same passions.
I've been making jewelry for around 6 months now and simply can't get enough. My story is a long one so I won't get into it here, you can read it on my website once my wife gets it finished.
I look forward to chatting with you all in the years to come.

Hi all,
I am new to wire sculpted jewellery, been making for a few months now. I started with the other guys dvd's and then found Rickie's dvd's. I found Rickie's to be superior in all ways and very easy to follow.
It's great to find a forum where we can share ideas, chat and show our stuff. I am hoping to contribute as much as possible to the forum and to learn from the other members too.
I am in the UK and wire sculpted jewellery is still relatively rare here and when people see it they really like it. I had to retire from my work due to ill health so I am planning on making a living from making jewellery.
I have such a lot to learn yet tho...lol
Would like to say thanks to Rickie for providing a great place for us to share.
Dave. |

| I am new to wire wrapping too. I am trying to become proficient at making wire names. I may expand to something else if the need arises. I am practicing as much as I can because the extra income is desperately needed. If anyone can tell me how to save money on supplies, advertising, websites, etc., I would greatly appreciate it. I don't think my budget is much bigger than a shoe string. Thank God Rickie has set up the tutorials so they are affordable. I am trying to buy 2 a week. His writing is beautiful too! I have seen other tutorials, but chose to learn from Rickie, because his writing is the first I have seen that is 'balanced', or what I call balanced. Thanks Rickie. I appreciate your sharing your expertise. |

The two web sites below are not expensive to sell things.
www.artfire.com
The best place to buy wire is Rio Grande. The quality is excellent and the price is based on the market price of gold that day.
A good way to get started is by having your freinds have home parties to sell your name jewelry or rent a small booth at a shopping mall. |

Try it again, there was a problem with all the ebooks when using explorer 8 and I made corrections on all of them. It should work fine now and if it don't let me know by email.
