: I am thinking of adding a removable inner stay on my: Sagitta. It will only be used in storm conditions. Has anyone already done this ? Any suggestions for
: attachment points, rigging etc ?
: Many thanks

Are you still interested in getting some advice? I have done this. Let me know.

If John is still about I'm interested. Or anyone with any thoughts on the subject, please respond.

Storm Mainsail: Gavin LeSueur, author of Multihull Seamanship, recommends putting in a strong fourth heavily reinforced, reef section in the mainsail. ( p. 111) Something less than 15% of the total mainsail area. Faster than putting on a trysail. Anyone do this? Any comments, thoughts?
Interesting that he recommends tying the tack to both the boom and the mast for this.
Of all the pictures of sails I have yet to see this done. |

Hello
I am a nimbus sailer of woods designs.
I have a inner forstay stormsail(on a roller). I would not do that again, but there is no disadvantage with it. Only it it isnt worth the money in my opinion.
I think a very deep reefed mainsail is the best.If nessecary you can use a tip off the roller genua for balance.
Hope this wil help.
